The Children’s Society

As we are all aware, the new twelve sided £1 coin is in circulation and the old ‘round’ coin will cease to be legal tender on the 16th October. As the Bank of England has not yet clarified how long the old £1 coin will be accepted through the bank, the Children’s Society is advising that House Boxes should be collected and counted in September/October. Would House Box holders please let me have their boxes before the 16th October. Our Box Holder numbers have dropped considerably over the last few years. The Children’s Society do a wonderful job helping thousands of young people who desperately need support. If anyone feels they would like to help in continuing The Society’s wonderful work and would like a House Box, please let me know. Thank you.                   Lilian Schofield
